Hats off to our server Jana, she did a great job and called everybody by their name. Oh, before I forget after the draft she told me "thank you." I said, that is my line, but she then informed me that she had hosted several draft parties and we were by far the best group. I do believe a good time was had by all.
Special thanks to Amanda and Josh for filling in for Chiefs Chick. Thanks to Chiefs Chick for getting somebody to draft her team in her absence.
Get Well soon cards are in the mail for Deakon, Forgot 2 Wipe, and Ferocious Pups for not being able to make the draft. I hope that they show their appreciation for those who drafted for them. I'm sure a portion of any winnings will be distributed appropriately.
For the first time in recent history Sooners did not get the first pick, but Adrian Peterson was still the first stud off the board. The number of times “Motor Forker” was heard suggested that great minds think alike, and once again we are looking forward to a very competitive league.
I placed the draft results at the feet of the mighty OZ. The great wizard looked over the picks and proceeded to share with me how the draft gods would dole out the grades, without further ado.
QB
Millertime –A +
Deakon, North Texas Bruisers, Forgot 2 Wipe, Fel Mel, Pups -A
Trojans, Rhinos, Hitman, Sooners. Chiefs Chick, and Sleepers - B
*Sooners set a new record by drafting his QB1 in the 9th round
RB
Sleepers – A+
North Texas Bruisers, Rhinos, Trojans, Chiefs Chicks, Pups, Fel Mel – A
Miller time, Forgot 2 Wipe, Hitman, Sooners, and Deakon – B
REC (WR & TE)
Sooners – A+
Trojans, Chiefs Chick, Millertime, North Texas Bruisers, Hitman – A
Pups, Rhinos, Sleepers, Deakon, Fel Mel, Forgot 2 Wipe – B
PK & DEF
Pups – A+
Everybody else - B+
Notes from OZ:
The estimated points difference from the best to the worst is 130 points over the entire season (16 games). That is about 8 points a game, and that my friend is too close to call with all the many variables.
North Texas Bruisers, Ferocious Pups, Miller Time, Rhinos, and Trojans should be in the hunt for playoff spots. Just a very few points behind them is Fel Mel, Chiefs Chick, Deakon, Hitman, and Sooners. Sleepers and Forgot 2 Wipe need a little bit more help than the rest, but with all the waiver wires, injuries, and blunders made in picking the weekly lineups there is just too many ways to make up those 8 points a week.
Best of luck to all
